Epidemiology Group (PEG)

The Perth Epidemiology Group (PEG) is the Western Australian Chapter of the AEA and was formed in late 2000.
PEG's role is to encourage professional development and networking among epidemiologists, public health professionals and students in Western Australia.
Anyone can join the mailing list and participate in PEG, you don’t have to be an AEA member.

Our activities include:
- an email list (PEGnet) which is a useful means of keeping ourselves informed about various activities and seminars in the local region. To join PEGnet go to http://maillists.uwa.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/pegnet and follow the links to subscribe.
- an annual weekend conference in which people can share their epidemiological experiences in a relaxed setting with plenty of time to spend talking, eating, drinking and enjoying the surroundings.

Darwin
Epidemiology Group (DREG)

Established in 2001, the Darwin Region Epidemiology Group (DREG) is the AEA Chapter for the Top End of the Northern Territory.
DREG conducts occasional professional development activities for epidemiologists and biostatisticians. Lunchtime seminars are conducted at the Menzies School of Health Research, Royal Darwin Hospital Campus, Rockland Drive, Tiwi. Speakers come from a range of places, including the Centre for Disease Control, Menzies School of Health Research, Charles Darwin University and Health Gains Planning.
DREG, in collaboration with other research bodies in the NT, also sponsors seminars by eminent visiting epidemiologist and biostatistians, and is interested in fostering multi-disciplinary research approaches to important health problems.
Queensland Epidemiology Group (QEG)

The Queensland Epidemiology Group (QEG) is the AEA Chapter for Queensland. Each year the QEG Committee organises a number of local meetings for Queensland-based AEA members. Past meetings have included seminars, discussion forums, expert panels, and opportunities for networking and meeting other members.
All Queensland-based AEA members are automatically added to our e-mail list for notification of local events and activities.
Recent past event:
April 2009: A Show and Tell meeting of population-based epidemiology in South-East Queensland. Fourteen speakers gave an overview of epidemiological research projects at their workplace.

Victorian Tasmanian Epidemiology Group (VTEG) formerly (MEG)

Revival of VTEG
In 2007, members met at the Population Health Congress in Hobart to talk about reviving the Melbourne Epidemiology Group (MEG). At the meeting it was decided that the group would also include Tasmanian members and would be known as the Victorian Tasmanian Epidemiology Group (VTEG).
In 2008, two meetings were held including a joint AEA/VTEG meeting and a one day research meeting coinciding with the AEA AGM was held.
NSW Epidemiology Group (NSWEG)

The NSW Epidemiology Group (NSWEG) is the New South Wales Australian Chapter of the AEA and was recently formed in May 2008.
NSWEG's role is to encourage professional development and networking among epidemiologists and biostatisticians in New South Wales, Australia.
South Australian Epidemiology Group

A small group of epidemiologists currently form the South Australian Epidemiology Group. Affiliated activities include an annual State Population Health Conference and a recent joint meeting with the SA Statistics Society for a workshop on ‘Statistical Adjustment in Epidemiological Studies’.
